New art quilt

I am making another tree quilt. Yes another :). I finished three Story of my life for the parents for Christmas and this baby quilt....
Having a baby quilt ready to go in my Etsy site. So now some fun. These leaves are being sewn on wash a way and I am going for an Autumnal colour, hoping it doesn't make a mess really :) I am using many different hues of green, this is the start.

My garden is slowly growing

Tomatoes have gone crazy, which is great as the best tomato sauce is made with home grown tomatoes mmmmmm.
Christmas was lovely and busy and I made too many cinnamon rolls so I had parties so that other people would eat the cinnamon rolls :) the problem is I really want to keep them and eat them all myself!!:) they are divine.
I am now doing the Hasfit workouts everyday to combat the cinnamon rolls :) that way I can keep eating them right?:)

Felicity

So I have finished another of the Felicity series and I still think that it looks like a kid did it but.... oh well all that work I might as well put it up on Etsy :)

Here's a random photo of my bobbin filled with dust :) Gee I wonder why it doesn't sound so good :)

Felicity and Introducing Frederick, Freddy to his friends... :)

Had a real yucky week last week, think it might have been a bit hormonal! Wonderful things happen when you turn 40 :) I got pimples on my chin and greasy hair and serious mood swings!!. mmmmmmmmm Nice! I feel better this week thank goodness at least :) Still have greasy hair! What's the go with that?? Haven't changed my good shampoo so got no idea what's going on there.

Well off to get the kids from school and take the oldest one to violin then come home and cook dinner. I am feeling really relaxed just thinking about it :).

Want Rain ?

Every time we have planned to go for a bush walk to a gorgeous mountain near us it rains!. So if you want rain, I will plan to go bush walking :) I am thinking positive thoughts that it will stop raining in about ten minutes, the sun will come out and it will all dry out till Tuesday morning :) Then it can rain. Alas, this does not look likely. Instead I will go shopping, bummer.

We have school holidays at the moment and we were going to take the kids to the great barrier reef, but then we decided we want to go to the U.S so we are saving our money for that. So we have planned something for each day of the holidays. We have gone to the museum and the science centre, hmmm won't be doing the science centre again,

Funny shots at the science centre :)

 then the beach

 - it even clouded over for us then!,

animal show,

Bearded dragon

Python

Squirrel glider

Sugar glider

Barking owl and it really does bark like a dog :)

Shopping with their allowance and bowling. We went to a helicopter show that was a bit of a fizzer but still cool to see the helicopters.

So going for a bushwalk tomorrow is about the only day we can do it. You watch, it won't rain for the rest of the week :). Some farmer really needs this rain and I am whining :)

I found a fantastic looking vintage shop the other day and so I am really looking forward to going back and having a look at the gorgeous goodies.

I have done the painting on the Leaf.... not sure what to call it, maybe something with Mosaic in it.....

Okay, so I went and made dinner in between, scrumptious enchiladas and potato bake mmmm and we were discussing cosplay and dressing up and I said that if I was hot I would be wonder woman and my son says " but mum wonder woman is skinny!" hahahahahahahahaha he just kept on playing on his computer :) soooooo funny :)

Found a good author that I am enjoying, Hester Browne and have found some fun shows on Hulu. Rehab Addict is fun, it would be great to be able to use all sorts of tools and be gorgeous and skinny as well as do up houses to look amazing :) that is what I will be when I grow up.
Tired, had sick kids and have been up all sorts of hours and times looking after them. Sleep.

Nearly Done

I have nearly finished my next Felicity piece, this one called Time Heals. I just need to put the binding on it.

I will get a better shot once it is binded :)

My signature tree, with time pieces

Her broken heart, pieced back together with time

words throughout the quilt

It has finally rained here and hasn't stopped for days. It has been very nice. Had to catch the bus to school for a couple of days due to the rain and the second mode of transport being a motorbike :) so the kids thought that was fun hehehe. The second day we arrived at the bus stop to Fire engines and the electricity truck, all the fuss was over a gorgeous Chevrolet classic 1950's car that had ploughed through a fence and hit the house. The car didn't look too bad, just sad to see such a gorgeous car damaged at all. Not sure about the house, poor owners. So that was more fun for the kids :)

Going to do some cooking tomorrow, a baked cheesecake that sounds divine, from a Mrs Fields cookbook and some biscuits and a wicked chocolate cake. Yes I am still trying to lose weight :) I am still doing my extra exercise every week. This week was walking home from school. Took me a very brisk 45 minutes.

Was going to go for a bush walk this weekend, but due to the rain, we will do that another time. Will take the kids to Daiso instead and we need good church shoes and donuts :). That still sounds fun. Would rather bush walk, but the other idea is great too :)

Now I need to work out whether I am going to do another Felicity and get all the idea's I have for her out on fabric or do another design I have.... I know, so important and complicated. My life is full of hard decisions.

New Commission

I am working on another baby quilt at the moment along with 4 wall hangings that will match the quilt.
All I have managed to do is the blue sky. School holidays absorb time!!

Talking about school holidays, we took the kids to see Despicable Me 2 yesterday and it was so funny and cute. Just loved it. It was so cute listening to kids laughing and really enjoying themselves. Nice.

A surprise activity that the kids have been doing a lot is bubble blowing!! Right now they are playing outside chasing them around just having a great time. Who would have thought! And we have the most perfect weather today!! Winter and its not cold, beautiful blue sky..... not a cloud in sight and the sun is gorgeous and warm. Such a perfect day.

I know that it is a bit hard to see the patterns, will paint them in and you will be able to see them better...

So these are the squares for the quilt and the wall hangings. Cute owls and birds mum and dad and baby :). Now to do the green parts. Love how the sky looks.

Still fighting the urge to shovel anything sweet and remotely looking like a chip into my mouth :) Will it ever go away? And it would help if I look like I have lost weight, I would love to lose the rolls of fat around my side :) I have gone from 4 to 3 hehehehhe so I am slooooowly getting there. I really really wanted to eat a snack sized cherry ripe last night but beat it!! yesssss. Had crackers and tuna today for lunch and it was ok. I bought some expensive tuna that was on special and told my hubby he better not like it too much as this was too dear to buy normally :) and of course when we had it today it was gorgeous!! I will see how much it is in a large tin and buy little containers for H at work. The joys of thinking about every minute thing you eat!! How do you get through it?

Feathers

Now that the metallic thread on the leaves is all done, I am now doing the gorgeous feathers. I am trying to give the impression that they are floating down from the tree...

At the top of the quilt, hoping this give the impression of leaves being blown about too :)

Gorgeous metallic thread, this is the marathon metallic thread and it hardly snapped at all. Totally impressed with this thread.

Went to the beach for Mothers Days with all the mums and just managed to catch the rainbow, bottom left hand corner and there was no one else in the picture! just shadows... gorgeous isn't it. It was such a windy day and ended up packing up early, still a lovely day though.

Raining/overcast here again, husband had to take the bike to work as I need the car, here's praying he doesn't get wet. Feel bad that he is on a motorbike in this weather. I think I will make myself a jarra hot chocolate to feel better :).
