New art quilt

I am making another tree quilt. Yes another :). I finished three Story of my life for the parents for Christmas and this baby quilt....
Having a baby quilt ready to go in my Etsy site. So now some fun. These leaves are being sewn on wash a way and I am going for an Autumnal colour, hoping it doesn't make a mess really :) I am using many different hues of green, this is the start.

My garden is slowly growing

Tomatoes have gone crazy, which is great as the best tomato sauce is made with home grown tomatoes mmmmmm.
Christmas was lovely and busy and I made too many cinnamon rolls so I had parties so that other people would eat the cinnamon rolls :) the problem is I really want to keep them and eat them all myself!!:) they are divine.
I am now doing the Hasfit workouts everyday to combat the cinnamon rolls :) that way I can keep eating them right?:)

Trees and school holiday

I finished the mosaic tree art quilt. I love it and had so much fun doing this one!!:) I am hoping to sell it on etsy for $1000,000 hehehhe. Well I think it's worth it. Imagine the sewing machine I could buy for that!! :)
So I want a new sewing machine. I do believe I can hear my poor little sewing machine slowly dying. I can hear it slowing down bit by bit. So I am saving my money for a really great sewing machine. I am going to get a Janome horizon. Once school is back, I am hitting sewing shops and test driving that thing and seeing if it is any good. I will try other machines too, fun fun fun!:).

School holidays are going a bit better than I thought. One more week left and I intend to keep them busy. We have been to the beach and swimming so much I still have water in my ears :) movies and friends over have helped with the arguing too. I am feeling good about myself that I only lost it about twice hehehhe, it's the arguing that does my head in!!!

Here's my future sewing machine

So now I have begun on a bed quilt for my bed, this will take me a while and I need to work out how long it actually takes me, as that's handy for future clients I think :)

Gorgeous colours aren't they!! Love them and I can't wait to see it all together.

Just read notorious nineteen by Janet Evanovich, I used to love these books, but his one I didn't enjoy so much. I know she has a few more, I am debating whether to try another. Such deep decisions!!!
And talking about deep stuff.... Tv has come back from their break, and castle is a bigggg disappointment. Castle already gets you to suspend all reality, but it does help to at least have some semblance of a storyline!!. Anyone else seen the latest episode? It took me all afternoon to watch it due to school holidays hehehehehe

Now off to make dinner, I am getting my kids more involved in cooking, so my oldest is going to make dinner with my assistance :) burritos should be a good start :).

Gorgeous Orange

Finished the Time Heals art quilt and have already sold it too :) very exciting really :). From something that I thought was childish, and still think that in a way, to selling three of them :) very cool.

Watches and time pieces instead of leaves....

Her heart is stitched/healed together with time. I will take a close up shot so you can see it better. She has a nose too, you just can't see it due to my fantastic photographic skills.

I decided to make something different instead of another Felicity design. I used a piece of fabric that I had dyed ages ago. It really makes me want to dye more fabric, but it is a bit tricky and expensive when it goes wrong :) I thought that I might try using my fabric paints and wet the fabric and see if that gives the same effect. I have so much paint so why not try it.

This design is of a big leaf with mosiac type patterns inside each leaf. I am so in love with this orange. I haven't used it as I love it so much. I can't replicate it as I hand dyed of course. But there is no use to it sitting in my cupboard either. So this will get me to experiment with the paint.

It is real hard to see the design. Will take better photo's again :) I will start painting and it will be easier to see too. Can't wait for that. Now for a break in cooking for me, take away :) mmmmmm.

Progress

In between eating myself a couple of kilo's heavier and all the school holiday arguments, I actually got some sewing done!!

Christmas day was at our home and I forgot to take any photos. Bummer. We had a great day though and so much yummy food. I made a huge trifle and forgot to put it out for dessert!! I got worried thinking I was going to have to eat it all myself. Oh no!! :) but no fear, my family side Christmas was boxing day so I took it along to that and it all went. Sigh, I really didn't mind just taking a spoon and eating it right out of the bowl. I could have done it and then entered Guinness book of records for the most trifle eaten at Christmas.

Instead I sat down with a bowl of chips and some leftover cheesecake shop baked cheesecake and watched two episodes of Person Of Interest. That was a great night. Definitely had a sugar hangover the next morning. Still worth it.

Only two weeks of school holidays has passed and it feels like sooo much longer. It has been good but just looong days. I want them to do lots of different things throughout the day, not just computers. I don't know how teachers do it. They are awesome. I am enjoying spending the time with the kids and it has been fun too, so will keep that in mind when they are going off at each other.

So here's a pic of the quilt, and now I am going to sew all these cute hearts onto the tree and floating though the air and in her basket. I have already done the two hearts for the next idea I have so I am excited to start on that even though I haven't even finished this one :).

Ok, so this is what happens when you leave the room and the kids get the camera, gross :)
His eyes are nearly popping out of his head hahahaha and I do not know what he is eating.

Gorgeous moon...

I made some yummy cinnamon rolls at Christmas and they were alot of work but worth it. A few of them didn't have enough filling in them and were a bit dry, but otherwise mmmmm
dough rising..... so cool

I stuck them in the garage to rise, and what a great idea, our garage is so hot and so they rose really well :)

Pretty Christmas present...

hearts ready to sew on the quilt

It took me so long to sew this little pile of hearts!! it should have been double at least.

Metallic thread still breaks!! So annoying.

Looks really appetizing in the bag doesn't it :) I would make a great food photographer. If I took it out I would have eaten it and I have to control myself :). So it stayed in the bag. I ate the corner just so I could tell you it was good.
This one is especially yummy... crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. Full of fatty goodness.

Now I am off to buy lots vegetables and fruit to conterbalance the sugar flowing through my body right now. I also made the most yummiest fudge too. Wow that really is a sugar rush. I am still exercising hehhehe which helps with the first mouthful of the cinnamon rolls. Addicted to Kitchen Cousins on HGTV at the moment, they are 20 minutes which is all I sit down at one time for. So fun to see gorgeous kitchens being built. Weird really, but fun.

A New One

I have that same problem as always, I think my latest piece looks like a child drew it :) I am very hesitant to even post a picture... I am using the wash away to make love hearts to be the leaves on the tree and floating on the breeze and will be in her basket. So at least that will look okay :)

These are the hearts with the wash away, love this stuff, very cool.

Ok, here is the undecided item, am I going to continue or not??? I have all these other drawings tied in with her and her heart, but if this one sucks, no go. I am hesitating whether it sucks too much or is on the border and I can do my machine work and transform it :) yeah that's what's going to happen. I am thinking of putting words into the sky, sound good? It is deliberately not a close up :)

Did a killer interval training workout today, did plank jumps and mountain climbers, both kill and tonight my legs are sooo sore!! I also did breakdance push ups, ouch ouch ouch. I collapse after the 8th one on each set, I did three sets this morning, and don''t forget the situps, but I don't mind them :) Off to bed to rest my legs :) then to get up and do it all again....
School holidays are one week away, I will remain positive and firm and convince the kids that there is no fighting in this home :) Leave me in my dream world for a while please.

New Ideas

Ok, so I remembered that since I missed the quilt show, I no longer need to keep this gorgeous thing off etsy, I put the Dream Tree on.

I also put on the two I finished yesterday, so here's hoping someone likes them :).

I have had an idea!! I made sure I noted that my brain actually worked :) I have pages filled in my sketch book with a whole theme of a cute girl and her heart and its all about love. I am so excited to start!!! Bit busy to start today, but tomorrow let's go!!.

Off to a thanksgiving dinner at our American's friends tonight, will take photo's of the huge amount of food :) everything is done large for American's isn't it ?:) It's finally raining here and yesterday the temp was 34, today it's quite cool. Nice.

I am loving the Gamache book already!! Louise Penny is amazing!! Unfortunately, locking myself away isn't going to happen. I am bringing some of the mash potato for the thanksgiving dinner so I am off to peel 6 kilo's of potatoes. Fun :) I will be watching Netflix to get me through it. Love Netflix, and Hulu.

Metallic Thread!!

Okay, so I put Luminous on my Etsy site, hoping it will sell of course :) and get me a few more hits. I was going to keep this one as I love it, but bills are there and need to be paid :). Life.

Working on the tree.....

Really enjoying doing all the different swirls and patterns to make the 'bark' on the tree.

Just started doing the leaves and this metallic thread is working much better so far.

This photo is interesting in that it looks like the swirly tree branches are popping out and yet it is the other way round, trick photography :) by accident hehehe It looks so much better in person.

I have been using by awesome metallic thread from Superior threads and it has always been great, but this time it snapped constantly!! very annoying but it is so gorgeous that I just put up with it :) it hasn't been that bad before. I am using a marathon metallic thread for the leaves and it is great too.

Mothers day coming up...... will I get breakfast in bed? Chances are that it wouldn't be that great if I do :)
Reading a book called Elegance by Kathleen Tessaro and am loving it. I have gotten her next three novels and really can't wait to read them all. Her latest looks fantastic too, The perfume Collector and it sounds so dreamy and just what we all want, some unknown person to leave us money :)
