Feathers

Ok, so I have finished the hills and I think they look great. I am really happy with this piece and I love that feeling of getting something right :) Now the judges at QLD Quilt Show have to feel that way too :)

The fields, just having waving lines over these

Forgot to share this a few weeks ago, we went a friends place and they keep snakes as pets :) and the youngest had a hold, very brave really :)

On the weekend we went to the beach and it was a spectacular day, middle of July, our winter and it was warm and glorious. Middle child loving being at the beach and searching for shells

What a vista.....

This path goes for many kilometres and winds it way along the beach, so many people bike along it, how pleasant does it look :)

I love how the sun glints off the water, beautiful

The kids pretending this was quick sand :)

Love love love shells

One of my most favourite things to collect at the beach is glass, and I love how it gets smoothed and worn from the sand and the water.

Did some more Zuzka yesterday and I think that was the most painful exercising I have ever done in my life!!! I have back muscles that hurt today!!! Sweet, there goes those back rolls of fat:) I have lost weight again this week which is huge for me as I haven't lost weight in so long. So more of those punishing workouts for me :) some of them I actually enjoy.

Off to do some more geocaching. We want to really increase our number, we are woefully low and so we want to hit 50 very soon :).

Thread

I have found another place to add to my list of places to travel to one day. This place....

Oh my does this look glorious?? I think so. It is called Berneray in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland and I want to go there. Now would be nice :) but oh well, staring at these pictures at my desk will do. What's on your list?

Shock horror that I opened my blog about something other than quilting!! Back to it!! If you can't tell from my blog I love thread. Really love it. I dream about and look on google for drawers and units to store thread, mainly these units cost more than my thread is worth :) reality does not factor in dreams, and then I dream about owning every single colour in the marathon thread range as well as the superior thread range and how much money I would need for all that :) details in a dream are very important. So anyway, reality again and I love having so many different coloured threads to blend and make the quilt as good as it can be. These are the blues that I used for the sky. There was one more but I put it away and in typical fashion can't remember which one it was now :)

 Gorgeous aren't they!!

Sky finished.....

 Gorgeous little feather

And these are the greens I am planing to use somehow on the hills etc. Still working out how to do it. Would love to do it the same as the sky but want a difference too. So still thinking... could take a
while :)

Oh and we placed another geocache on the weekend and that was so fun and we found one too, need to do more of them you forget how much fun it is. But our geocache got six people trying to be first to find the cache and three of them turned up at the same time :) So our goal is to really get out there and go for lots of walks and adventures and find lots of geocaches. Give it a go, it is so much fun.

I have also started doing this again, she used to be called body rock and now has gone out on her own. Her workouts are the best and so to lose the jaba the hut chins I am giving myself 12 minutes of pain every morning and then some mornings going for a walk straight after. Legs are jelly, it hurts to get up after sitting but I feel Amazing!!! So strong  and confident, I know it sounds like a sell but I really do. I feel so good that I can do these workouts. Go me :) Come and join me some time, it would be fun to work out together :) No chocolate today, that hurts just as much as the exercise hehehehhe but I am trying.

Feathers

Now that the metallic thread on the leaves is all done, I am now doing the gorgeous feathers. I am trying to give the impression that they are floating down from the tree...

At the top of the quilt, hoping this give the impression of leaves being blown about too :)

Gorgeous metallic thread, this is the marathon metallic thread and it hardly snapped at all. Totally impressed with this thread.

Went to the beach for Mothers Days with all the mums and just managed to catch the rainbow, bottom left hand corner and there was no one else in the picture! just shadows... gorgeous isn't it. It was such a windy day and ended up packing up early, still a lovely day though.

Raining/overcast here again, husband had to take the bike to work as I need the car, here's praying he doesn't get wet. Feel bad that he is on a motorbike in this weather. I think I will make myself a jarra hot chocolate to feel better :).

Such Gorgeous Weather!!

The weather has been so perfect here, glorious blue skies and hardly any clouds, with a perfect breeze. So off we went to the beach. The kids swam and made sandcastles, friends came too so we relaxed on the sand chatting and enjoying the gorgeous weather. Could have stayed there all day.....

Yesterday I finished binding both the black swirl one and the green swirl one.  Binding takes so long and is not enjoyable, but something has to go around them.

Gorgeous isn't it!

They found a huge branch on the beach, so thought they could use it as a boat :) you can see it poking out....

hahahaha this was the result. Funny kids :)

This looks soooo much better in person. The green just glows and shimmers

This is another bad photo of black swirls :)

Love the backs as much as the fronts....

Gorgeous orange swirl

So now I am working on this, will add 3d leaves and flowers and birds nest and maybe even a bird :) In my head the bird looks great :) let's see how it looks in real life :)
