We went to our local Anzac day march this morning and the kids marched with their schools. I love watching the march and love the feeling of Anzac day and how it helps us remember the men that gave their lives for us. My father has medals from his father and grandfather and it is wonderful to hear the stories that he tells passed down through the family. I am so proud of our children for getting up early and marching to support this day. Now we are relaxing and I am coming off a sugar splurge from eating the leftover cheesecake from my birthday :) so now I can feel the detox from the sugar already.
Cravings are high and I want to eat anything!. It never ends. But I have lost weight so this is an incentive :).
Went bushwalking last weekend, it didn't rain!! Amazing. It was so gorgeous up in the mountains and it makes me want to live up there, don't worry about the massive hours of commute to work or school or church hehehehe. The view was just incredible. At one point you can see the city!!!
The sun shining through the trees, it looked amazing...
I love the pockets of sun shining through the gaps in the trees
Plane flying over the Anzac march, was too busy clapping to take photo's :)
Very cool
Now I am still working on my mosaic piece, school's back so now I have a couple more hours spare, so I have been trying to get as much done as possible.
This one is just full of feathers, love doing them and there is allll this free space :) perfect
So off to read my fantastic book, it's the Maisie Dobbs series by Jaqueline Winspear and is the third in the series, trying to get them in order. Really enjoying the setting, 1920's and the strong, smart woman as the main character going it alone.

Want Rain ?
Every time we have planned to go for a bush walk to a gorgeous mountain near us it rains!. So if you want rain, I will plan to go bush walking :) I am thinking positive thoughts that it will stop raining in about ten minutes, the sun will come out and it will all dry out till Tuesday morning :) Then it can rain. Alas, this does not look likely. Instead I will go shopping, bummer.
We have school holidays at the moment and we were going to take the kids to the great barrier reef, but then we decided we want to go to the U.S so we are saving our money for that. So we have planned something for each day of the holidays. We have gone to the museum and the science centre, hmmm won't be doing the science centre again,
Funny shots at the science centre :)
then the beach
- it even clouded over for us then!,
animal show,
Bearded dragon
Python
Squirrel glider
Sugar glider
Barking owl and it really does bark like a dog :)
Shopping with their allowance and bowling. We went to a helicopter show that was a bit of a fizzer but still cool to see the helicopters.
So going for a bushwalk tomorrow is about the only day we can do it. You watch, it won't rain for the rest of the week :). Some farmer really needs this rain and I am whining :)
I found a fantastic looking vintage shop the other day and so I am really looking forward to going back and having a look at the gorgeous goodies.
I have done the painting on the Leaf.... not sure what to call it, maybe something with Mosaic in it.....
Okay, so I went and made dinner in between, scrumptious enchiladas and potato bake mmmm and we were discussing cosplay and dressing up and I said that if I was hot I would be wonder woman and my son says " but mum wonder woman is skinny!" hahahahahahahahaha he just kept on playing on his computer :) soooooo funny :)
Found a good author that I am enjoying, Hester Browne and have found some fun shows on Hulu. Rehab Addict is fun, it would be great to be able to use all sorts of tools and be gorgeous and skinny as well as do up houses to look amazing :) that is what I will be when I grow up.
Tired, had sick kids and have been up all sorts of hours and times looking after them. Sleep.

Gorgeous Orange
Finished the Time Heals art quilt and have already sold it too :) very exciting really :). From something that I thought was childish, and still think that in a way, to selling three of them :) very cool.
Watches and time pieces instead of leaves....
Her heart is stitched/healed together with time. I will take a close up shot so you can see it better. She has a nose too, you just can't see it due to my fantastic photographic skills.

I decided to make something different instead of another Felicity design. I used a piece of fabric that I had dyed ages ago. It really makes me want to dye more fabric, but it is a bit tricky and expensive when it goes wrong :) I thought that I might try using my fabric paints and wet the fabric and see if that gives the same effect. I have so much paint so why not try it.
This design is of a big leaf with mosiac type patterns inside each leaf. I am so in love with this orange. I haven't used it as I love it so much. I can't replicate it as I hand dyed of course. But there is no use to it sitting in my cupboard either. So this will get me to experiment with the paint.
It is real hard to see the design. Will take better photo's again :) I will start painting and it will be easier to see too. Can't wait for that. Now for a break in cooking for me, take away :) mmmmmm.

Nearly Done
I have nearly finished my next Felicity piece, this one called Time Heals. I just need to put the binding on it.
My signature tree, with time pieces
Her broken heart, pieced back together with time
words throughout the quilt
I will get a better shot once it is binded :)

It has finally rained here and hasn't stopped for days. It has been very nice. Had to catch the bus to school for a couple of days due to the rain and the second mode of transport being a motorbike :) so the kids thought that was fun hehehe. The second day we arrived at the bus stop to Fire engines and the electricity truck, all the fuss was over a gorgeous Chevrolet classic 1950's car that had ploughed through a fence and hit the house. The car didn't look too bad, just sad to see such a gorgeous car damaged at all. Not sure about the house, poor owners. So that was more fun for the kids :)
Going to do some cooking tomorrow, a baked cheesecake that sounds divine, from a Mrs Fields cookbook and some biscuits and a wicked chocolate cake. Yes I am still trying to lose weight :) I am still doing my extra exercise every week. This week was walking home from school. Took me a very brisk 45 minutes.
Was going to go for a bush walk this weekend, but due to the rain, we will do that another time. Will take the kids to Daiso instead and we need good church shoes and donuts :). That still sounds fun. Would rather bush walk, but the other idea is great too :)
Now I need to work out whether I am going to do another Felicity and get all the idea's I have for her out on fabric or do another design I have.... I know, so important and complicated. My life is full of hard decisions.

Felicity Again
I finished another Felicity art quilt and it is now up on Etsy waiting for someone to buy her so she can feel loved :). I am having so much fun doing these and it is nice and quick getting them out. I still want to put together a huge quilt with triangles all over and full of soft reds, pinks, greens and whites but the thought of how long I will spend on this quilt and time away from making more Felicity dreams stops me :) cloning would be handy wouldn't it?? I would make about three of me, one to clean and cook, one to make big quilts and the other to be a perfect mother. Bliss.
I got my paints, so quick and they are divine!! Have a look at these gorgeous colours! And the gloss and shine to these paints are amazing! It doesn't come through the camera, you need to see them in person to see how yummy they are :) I will be spending all day tomorrow experimenting with these gorgeous paints.
Bright greens, gorgeous yellow and a copper colour mmmmmmm
Red!
This black is actually called gold black and even though the photo doesn't show it too wel, there is gold flecked through this black paint!!! suuuuper coooool
You can see the sparkle to this paint, weirdly the photo has shown this as blue even though it is a gorgeous purple.... really need those photography lessons :)
The name of this gorgeous paints/inks...
I actually did ramp it up on the exercise front this week and wohooooo I can see results already!! I know I am slimmer and I feel great that I did something I said I would do! :) it hurt real bad riding the bike but it was worth it :) will do another ramped up exercise week again and will have that great body by my birthday :)
Just read another lovely Maeve Binchy book. They are great reads and so relaxing, need more of that :).
