Pretty Stuff

I dream of a garden filled with flowers and trees and swaying branches :) dappled sunlight and cookies on a plate near a gorgeous garden bench. Food is always involved hehehehe. So since I don't even have one tree in my yard, I will settle with flowers instead :) so I am starting to fill the garden sloooowly with flowers. I bought three terracotta pots and about ten different flowers and two bags of soil and it cost me $80, not too bad. I have tried to grow flowers from seed, but it has been so dry here lately that they didn't grow :(. I will try again now that it has rained just a little.

Here are the gorgeous flower pots....

Had this one already, this has daisy's and petunia's that are having trouble growing due to the lack of water :) My yard is bare :) will try and plant a tree.

Now for some quilting stuff :) I am nearly finished with my next one called My Heart! and am loving it.

In her hand will be pieces of her heart that I have sewn onto the wash away and there will be shattered pieces on the floor. Poor girl :) It gets better for her :)

I'm really loving her hair in this one, it isn't flying around the place as she is down and sad.... Also she has boring flat shoes with no bows to show that she doesn't care right now :)

I finally bought the most amazing fabric paint that I have wanted for so long!! I have a few colours already and have used all the gold and it is the best paint I have ever used. I am so excited to get these paints. Have a look if you need some fabric paint :) soooo gorgeous, and I am very curious to see what the gold black looks like :) I bought some more wash away from Kraftkolour as well as it was half the price as any other place I have found it. And I got some thinner as paint gets thicker over time and I can just add some thinner and wohooo I can use the paint again. Getting so excited about the most mundane stuff :)

Made some choc chip biscuits for the first time in moooonths!!! I have decided I am going to have to relax the diet just a little and up the exercise. I have been obessing over food this week and don't want to get too bad. Choc chip biscuits are a good start :) Next is choc chip hot cross buns hehehehe I am going to do my interval training twice in the morning and then throughout the day go for a killer bike ride up a huge hill in my area :) here comes a better body by my birthday :) dreams are good right??:)

A First!!

I have had watery eyes for awhile now, and I have gone to the doctors and gotten drops and that helped, but as soon as they ran out the watery eyes came back. So I went to an eye specialist and I have dry eyes :). I do not have enough oils in my eyes. So the doctor pulls out a needle and say that he wants to squirt some salt water in my tear ducts!! I got a bit nervous and he said 'oh don't worry, it's a bendy needle'. Oh well that's okay then. Made me feel so much better. I wish :).

So he inserted a needle into my tear duct!! Ughh, thankfully it didn't hurt too much, the yucky part was then he turned the needle once it was in my tear duct to get the right angle :) At least it was over very quickly and since this procedure my tear ducts have been so much better. So there's a first :) tick it off my list, needle in my eye :).

So Your Heart for My Heart is on Etsy now. I am loving her dress :) and I have started another one already and love the sky on what I have done. Feels good to like my work :).

My daughter has finished her quilt, with the help of her friends hehe and I have done a bit of piecing on the ends and now I will put it together and start sewing :) should be fun. Seriously I cannot piece at all!! I think I might buy a online class on piecing just so I don't feel so inept :).

Sold!!

Well I sold An Easy Way to Get Love!! So excited, here I am thinking it looks like a child's drawing :) And I sold Dream Tree too. Good timing for back to school and about another ten bills as well. I get so excited every time I sell something :) someone actually likes my stuff AND gives me money too!!:)

Finished the next Felicity in the series, it was slow going as the kids have had friends over and all I do is feed them and then clean up after them all. Fun. But they have fun and there is no arguing so give and take :).

Will have to fix that eye, :)

So now just to bind it, I find it hard to match a binding colour. I used to just bind  it in some funky gold I had but I ran out and the fabric shop I go to get all sorts of different stuff in and not always the same. Will have to look again for something tomorrow.

Then one of my wonderful friends went back to the U.S, so sad and not fair :) Helped clean her house and then when it was empty it looked so nice and clean :) of course, so I came home and did a huge declutter and went through the kids rooms and just cleaned everything!! Now it feels better and when the kids go back to school (wohooo) next week I can relax for a few days before having to clean again. Ha ha ha funny. Dreaming. Nice.

Went shopping and there was no chocolate on special!! What??? I never buy chocolate at full price $4.80 for a block of chocolate? No way! So I have to check if there is any stashed at home or keep going back to the store waiting for a special :) This is news people!!. This is important.

My daughter wants to make her own quilt and she has designed the quilt top up and will start drawing on it tomorrow and then paint, we will then go get the backing and wadding which thankfully is on special at my local quilt shop. Said daughter said well then we should be done by the end of the week then mum once you've done your stuff! hehehe I wish I was that quick or had a long arm and it would be done that quick :)
Dinner, what a chore!! off I go...

Finished and the Next One

Well I finished 'The Easy Way To Get Love" and have just listed it on Etsy. This is the first in a series of ideas that I have for this lucky woman :).

Here's the beginning of the new one, her dress is her thoughts and feelings....

So in their hands will be their hearts that they are giving to each other and on her dress she is already dreaming of a white picket fence and a house and the ring... it is a bit hard to spot, can you see it?

Where as he is not thinking of anything like Felicity, he is as free as a bird :) with not another thought on his mind. Trust me, that really does look like a bird :)

School holidays must be over right?? It's been 6 weeks already hasn't it? The kids had some friends over yesterday, in total I had eight kids here... no fighting so it was good really :) Just felt like I fed them all day. I had just finished lunch by only half an hour and my son came up to me saying" I missed afternoon tea, I want afternoon tea!!" what on earth???? it was 1:30!!! Go play with your friends!!

Today was one of those boring cleaning most of the day days. Took oldest daughter to the optometrist for the final payment and it was more than we were expecting!! Plus the contacts weren't working as well as they were supposed to and we had to buy other stuff of course. It gets me a bit down when all this money just pours out of our account. So many more things to pay for too. But I think that we are blessed to be able to pay for these contacts so our daughters eyesight can be helped.

The whole family hopped on the Wii the other day and it had been a while since I do the Zuzanna workouts and my husband who eats whatever he wants and does no exercise AT ALL, at all, and you know what??? He lost 4lbs whatever that is in kilo's from his last weight ages ago!!! Me well I have lost 4 kilos in 5 months!!! seriously. It is soooooo frustrating!!. But again with the positive thoughts :) I am healthy and strong... doesn't help when I want to eat chips and not gain weight.

I read a book a few months ago that I told you about called The Monuments Men about WW2 and the art theft recovery by these 7 men and I just discovered today that they have made a movie of this incredible book and it has George Clooney and Matt Damon in it!!! Holy heck wohoooo :) the book was amazing and now I can see it in film with a couple of hotties :).
Off to relax and read a good book hopefully :) wish I was eating chips too but here's for a flatter tummy :).

Progress

In between eating myself a couple of kilo's heavier and all the school holiday arguments, I actually got some sewing done!!

Christmas day was at our home and I forgot to take any photos. Bummer. We had a great day though and so much yummy food. I made a huge trifle and forgot to put it out for dessert!! I got worried thinking I was going to have to eat it all myself. Oh no!! :) but no fear, my family side Christmas was boxing day so I took it along to that and it all went. Sigh, I really didn't mind just taking a spoon and eating it right out of the bowl. I could have done it and then entered Guinness book of records for the most trifle eaten at Christmas.

Instead I sat down with a bowl of chips and some leftover cheesecake shop baked cheesecake and watched two episodes of Person Of Interest. That was a great night. Definitely had a sugar hangover the next morning. Still worth it.

Only two weeks of school holidays has passed and it feels like sooo much longer. It has been good but just looong days. I want them to do lots of different things throughout the day, not just computers. I don't know how teachers do it. They are awesome. I am enjoying spending the time with the kids and it has been fun too, so will keep that in mind when they are going off at each other.

So here's a pic of the quilt, and now I am going to sew all these cute hearts onto the tree and floating though the air and in her basket. I have already done the two hearts for the next idea I have so I am excited to start on that even though I haven't even finished this one :).

Ok, so this is what happens when you leave the room and the kids get the camera, gross :)
His eyes are nearly popping out of his head hahahaha and I do not know what he is eating.

Gorgeous moon...

I made some yummy cinnamon rolls at Christmas and they were alot of work but worth it. A few of them didn't have enough filling in them and were a bit dry, but otherwise mmmmm
dough rising..... so cool

I stuck them in the garage to rise, and what a great idea, our garage is so hot and so they rose really well :)

Pretty Christmas present...

hearts ready to sew on the quilt

It took me so long to sew this little pile of hearts!! it should have been double at least.

Metallic thread still breaks!! So annoying.

Looks really appetizing in the bag doesn't it :) I would make a great food photographer. If I took it out I would have eaten it and I have to control myself :). So it stayed in the bag. I ate the corner just so I could tell you it was good.
This one is especially yummy... crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. Full of fatty goodness.

Now I am off to buy lots vegetables and fruit to conterbalance the sugar flowing through my body right now. I also made the most yummiest fudge too. Wow that really is a sugar rush. I am still exercising hehhehe which helps with the first mouthful of the cinnamon rolls. Addicted to Kitchen Cousins on HGTV at the moment, they are 20 minutes which is all I sit down at one time for. So fun to see gorgeous kitchens being built. Weird really, but fun.
