Black and White

I have finished painting the black swirls and I think that it looks all right....

Now to iron it and then have more fun with the free motion. Sometimes I think about owning a long arm where it would take me a day to do this, such a nice dream :) and so much fun. Only problem would be finding somewhere to house the thing. I really need my own sewing room, maybe the kids can share :) because that would make my life easier hehehe, but then again, it wouldn't matter as I could just escape into my sewing room :). Oh well, back at my desk with the kids fighting with each other over minecraft. 

I got another urge to cut up fabric, so this time I am trying a black and white design, will post photos when there is more than just squares to show. Or maybe not at all if I stuff it up :) my skill is not in piecing at all. 

Reading another Michael Connelly at the moment and really enjoying this one too. Want to read a really good family saga/chick lit but the ones I pick all suck so I will just keep trying. 

School back countdown: 3 days. (it's the noise more than anything else)

Great Stuff

I ordered some new thread from Superior threads, their new Magnifico thread and I have used it and think it is fantastic. I do not work or get any incentive for this post, purely just letting you know this thread rocks!!:)

I only got a couple, to test them out, these are the colours I got, I also got a gorgeous corn coloured one that I had trouble locating.

They are 40w so nice and thick and you can see it, this is what I like, and it feels so good, nice and strong and thick. No breakage and it is like butter to sew with. Now to add to my tiny amount :) 

Have been working on these...

I wanted this one to look something like a peacocks feather... in person the green is gorgeous and looks like it ripples across the piece.

Another of my swirls, this time on black to see how much it pops, I am really liking it...

Off to clean the house for the millionth time again today, school holidays ugghh for that otherwise they have been fine.

Weekend

Well what a nice Easter weekend that was. Went to see yachts take off for a big race, less boats than I expected, but still really cool. There were market stalls galore and we had a nice time looking around. It was very hot though, so we didn't look too long.

Saturday was spent getting the yard all neat and looking fantastic, and I love feeling tired from good physical labour. And the yard looks fantastic too. Church yesterday and of course that was lovely and today family for lunch and friends for dinner. Very relaxing and fun. Good thing I mega cleaned the house in the morning.

School holidays now so it will remain to be seen how much creating I get done. I have nearly finished the baby quilt and I am really loving how it looks.


The back, most of the times the back looks just as good as the front :)

When this is done I am going to paint some more of my swirls designs. I love the randomness and the gorgeous metallic paint, it all just works so well together.

Finished!!!

I finished the Flowers art quilt, and it's now on Etsy too.

Working on another baby quilt for a client, I did animals for this one and they look so cute :). Now to put it all together. Last time I made one I forgot to put one of the strips with the nine patch!! duh. I was ironing them when I noticed. Must have been tired. So will be much more aware this time :).

I am thinking of purchasing a lesson on a website called Craftsy, it seems really good value and the lessons last forever. Anyone every purchased one?

Hearts

I finished the hearts art quilt. It is now on etsy waiting for someone to love it enough.

I checked the weather today, no rain till Sunday, so I got my weed killer out and sprayed those most annoying weeds on the rocks that we have. Three hours later, It Rained!!!! Whatever.... 

So will see over the next couple of weeks whether it worked or I am off to buy more weed killer. 

Have started on the garden quilt and am using metallic thread, hmmmm it keeps breaking and I have the right needle and it is superior thread so it is fantastic. I am getting real sick of rethreading. Will  keep going for a few more flowers until I cant take it any more. It usually works fine, so who knows why not today.

Am reading a real good book by Michael Conolly, have never read his books! how did I miss that. Totally enjoying it and it is so well written.

So tired today, a good book and rest is what I need.

Dreaming

I was looking on a real estate website the other day and I got distracted by looking at gorgeous houses in the millions :) it was so much fun. It's nice to dream about having a divine house with everything you want (needs are way taken care of in these houses :) and then I started looking in Tasmania too :). We lived in Tasmania for a little while and it was a fantastic experience and the island is sooooo beautiful. It is a real paradise. So I look up houses dreaming about living there again in some gorgeous old barn built by convicts :) or a gorgeous old victorian house that must cost a fortune to heat. It's cold down there. So, do you get online and real estate dream? It is an escape from mopping floors (need to do that now, escaping with this blog post) and other mindless tasks we do. 

While I have been quiet on the blog front, more mindless tasks that give me nothing to blog about :), I have been working on this.......

I am going to add bead to the flowers and will have bead as the trail to the dragonflies and the butterflies, should look good :)

I have lynx on my laptop and I don't know how to use the program that comes with it for editing photo's and I could not find where to rotate !!!!

Anyway, will take some photo's when its free motioned and maybe it will look better :) Off to get my hair cut, can't decide whether to be real brave and cut it short into some funky style or get an equally funky bob. My hair at the moment is long, it reaches my behind so this will be a big change. I am sick of all the hair everywhere!! I clean out my bathroom in the morning and by lunch it is like someone has had a fight with my hair and pulled it all out!! gross. Off it comes. Will post a photo if it looks any good :)
